Skiing at Stratton: A Holiday Tradition is a special trip that our family treasures every year.  This December we again hit the slopes at Stratton for our first tracks of the season.  We love visiting the resort during the holidays, as its village and quaint shops are always beautifully decorated and feature a variety of exciting holiday sales and events. Fun Family Skiing at Mont Tremblant

December 9, 2014

Winter is here, and we’ve just kicked off our ski season with Fun Family Skiing at Mont Tremblant!  Tremblant is less than two hours by car from Montreal and nine hours from New York City, but the drive must rank as one of the most beautiful in North America.  We’ve noted that parks in Quebec are national parks, as opposed to provincial parks, which adds to the feeling that Quebec is a country within a country. The View From the Top of Mont Tremblant is Spectacular An Intrawest resort like one of our other favorite mountain resorts, Stratton, Mont […]

Now another dear friend is supporting this important cause in an extraordinary way.  Christine Duque has helped to create an Extraordinary Way to Give Back to her home country.  Born in the Philippines, Christine came to the United States at the age of 15 to study opera at Oberlin Conservatory of Music.  After graduating from college, she initially pursued a career as a singer and worked with various young artists’ programs, singing professionally at prestigious venues and with such acclaimed […]

An Extraordinary Cause: Heart Care International

August 21, 2014

An extraordinary cause, Heart Care International was started 20 years ago by a group of extraordinary individuals, including our dear and very generous friends Courtney and Chris Combe, who regularly give back to our local Tri-State community.  We feel so honored to know them and so appreciate their introducing us to Heart Care International, which helps children born with heart defects in developing countries (primarily Latin America so far) by providing life-saving heart procedures. With both a long line of doctors in our family and past experience in the medical community, healthcare causes have always been near and dear to our hearts (click […]

Saluting Our Heroes! Planes: Fire & Rescue

July 18, 2014

Saluting Our Heroes! Planes: Fire & Rescue presented us with a teachable moment as we asked our children to appreciate those who overcome great odds to keep us safe from fires and other weather disasters. Yet again Disney provides excellent family entertainment while emphasizing some important life lessons. Our children cheered with delight when they heard that Planes: Fire & Rescue, the new 3D computer-animated sequel to Planes, was dedicated to our brave American firefighters.  Dusty Crop Hopper, the voice of Dane Cook from the original Planes movie, decides he needs to help his hometown by becoming a firefighter to secure the certificate […]
