A Close Call in Barcelona on the Last Day of Our Family Vacation

October 22, 2017

We had A very Close Call in Barcelona on the Last Day of Our Family Vacation: It was mid-August, and our first family trip to Europe was coming to a close. After an exciting Disney cruise with our three children that took the five of us to Naples, Florence, and Rome, my husband headed back to New York for work, while the children and I went on to Madrid and Barcelona. We enjoyed several delightful beach days at Sitges, a quaint resort town about 30 minutes northwest of Barcelona. I had decided that we should spend our last afternoon in […]

August 26, 2017

With our recent experience in the terrorism attack in #Barcelonastrong and Hurricane Harvey heading to our beloved Texas, we thought it would be helpful to re-run a past blog on helpful life saving apps to help Moms during disasters.  We momma bears want to cling tightly to our cubs to keep them safe. However, as the leaders of our tribe, we must keep a positive outlook on life and teach our children to see the good in our world like all those who helped each other in the brave city of Barcelona. Everyday is truly a gift! But, it never […]

Flying With Young Children: Helpful Hints

June 7, 2013

Disclosure: We recently received Ear Planes to review. We were not compensated for this post. As always, all opinions are our own. Read our full disclosure on our site.   Because family lives so far away, our children started flying only a few months after they were born.  After 14 years of flying all types of routes with three busy children, we have a couple of hints we would like to share. Geocaching: a Tech Family Friendly Sport

June 3, 2013

Geocaching in Jones State Forest, The Woodlands, Texas   Our kids really enjoy adventure movies like National Treasure with Nicholas Cage, so when friends introduced us to Geocaching they were thrilled. Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Moreover, Geocaching  is the perfect sport to play with the whole family on a beautiful weekend. Parents like Geocaching because it gets the family out of the house and unplugged from their individual technology.  The children like it because they can “keep” something from each treasure (cache) found and leave something of theirs behind for the next person. The above […]
