Last week during February vacation we visited the amazing Clark Museum in Williamstown MA. http://www.clarkart.edu/
We enjoyed a truly revolutionary exhibit. They used Samsung tablets to give a tour of their condensed collection called “Uexplore”. The museum is under construction so much of their collection of Renoir, Degas and Picasso is traveling around the world.
However, the Uexplore guide of the remaining collection made it a very engaging and fun experience for our children. For years, we have been dragging the children to art museums in NYC saying “art is food for the soul”. They end up lasting about an hour at most and whining so much that we end up drinking at lunch in the museum cafe.
At the Uexplore exhibit the children could have stayed all day. The exhibit also allowed the children to curate their own viewings on the tablet. They could choose how to group the wonderful John Singer Sargent paintings and where to place the Degas ballerina sculptures. Our children had never seen such a revolutionary way to creatively play. We recommend a fun family trip to the Berkshires in the winter or summer so you can experience a truly revolutionary art experience….
