Given the current popularity of 5-10 minute digestible video nuggets from “Carpool Karoke with Adele” to the latest Instagram postings, we decided it is time for launching Techandtravelmom Moments.
Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 12.28.18 PM Starting on April 15th, and each Friday thereafter, Techandtravelmom Moments will be broadcast on Rye TV (Verizon Fios channel 33 or Cablevision channel 76) at 11:40 am, 2:30, 5:30 and 10:30 pm or any time on RyeTV.org. You can even catch us on YouTube at Techandtravelmom Moments.
We plan to have a new video nugget for you every two weeks. All of our five-to-ten minute segments will focus, as our blog does, on some aspect of innovation in technology, travel or sports. Our goal is to deliver brief, digestible analysis of up-to-the-minute information for busy multitaskers leading hectic lives. We all need innovative ways of keeping current in our rapidly moving digital age, and we hope that you will find a few minutes to tune in for the latest updates.
Also, with the choice of our special guests, we hope to address the critical need to support women in any type of innovation and tech career.  We all agree that innovation in organizations and companies large and small is critical to future of our great nation.
The first episode features the co-founder of Womensdebate.org Jose Zeilstra.

While we are all working hard to keep this nation great, are any of you already experiencing election fatigue? With more than 20 primary debates and round-the-clock coverage, it’s no wonder. Yet in all of the stump speeches and “expert” analysis on 24-hour news channels, there has been very little discussion of the issues identified by women voters. There are REAL, every day issues about employment and income, child care, domestic violence, access to quality health care and so many more. Womensdebate.org, co-founded by our guest Jose Zeilstra, is a nonpartisan effort seeking to bring national attention to these issues by asking our candidates to commit to a live debate or town hall focused exclusively on these issues.
Please take a look at the campaign at www.womensdebate.org, and take a minute to add your voice by signing the petition here. Women have the voting power to decide this election. Get out the vote!

This movement truly aligns with our favorite quote from Margaret Meade:

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
So keep an eye out for our new shows and if you have a suggestion for a topic or a special guest please let us know.  Techandtravelmom Moments is the product of a handful of talented volunteers.  Many thanks to Susan Olson, Ken Knowles, Clayton Esler, Mahir Bala, Grant Keith, Greg Faughn and Roberta Jendretzke. We also owe a big thank you to the wonderful staff of Rye TV. They are truly jewels in the crown of Westchester County.
We are so happy to be Launching Techandtravelmom Moments and hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
