Hey Hey rockstars!
I’m so happy you have been visiting since 2010, because we’re going to talk about something truly special: the value of being a Libra, the beauty of celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, and the incredible gift of being 60 years old and grateful for every single day we’re given.
So take a breath, settle in, open your heart, and let’s find a little happy together.

THE BEAUTY OF BEING A LIBRA
Let’s start with my fellow Libras, or anyone who has a Libra in their life.
There’s something wonderful about being a Libra. We’re often known for our love of balance, beauty, harmony, fairness, and connection. We’re the ones who want everyone to feel included, who appreciate a beautiful sunset, a thoughtful gesture, a lovely dinner with friends, and a conversation that leaves us feeling closer to someone than we were before.
Libras are often natural peacemakers. We want things to feel right. We want people to get along. We care about fairness, and we have a special appreciation for the little things that make life feel beautiful.
But here’s something I think is especially important: being a Libra isn’t just about bringing harmony to the world around us. It’s also about learning to create harmony within ourselves.
Sometimes we spend so much time making other people happy that we forget to ask ourselves what makes us happy.
We try to keep the peace. We want everyone to feel loved. We may even struggle with making decisions because we can see so many sides of a situation.
But, my friends, it’s okay to choose yourself sometimes. It’s okay to say no. It’s okay to protect your peace. And it’s okay to recognize that your happiness matters just as much as everyone else’s.
The beautiful thing about getting older is that we begin to understand this a little better. We realize that we don’t have to please everyone. We don’t have to make every situation perfect. We simply have to live authentically, love generously, and appreciate the people and experiences that make our hearts feel full.
And that, to me, is a beautiful way to be a Libra.
CELEBRATING BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES
Now, let’s talk about celebrations!
Birthdays and anniversaries are so much more than dates on a calendar. They are opportunities to pause and say, Look at this life we’ve lived. Look at the love we’ve shared. Look at everything we’ve made it through.
A birthday celebrates the gift of being here. Another year of laughter, lessons, friendships, family, unexpected surprises, and opportunities to begin again.
And an anniversary? An anniversary celebrates a connection that has endured. It celebrates the memories two people have created, the challenges they’ve faced, the laughter they’ve shared, and the decision to keep showing up for one another.
Whether it’s a wedding anniversary, a friendship anniversary, or another meaningful milestone, these occasions remind us that relationships are among life’s greatest treasures.
So let’s not save our celebrations for the big, impressive moments.
Celebrate the birthday with the homemade cake. Send the card. Make the phone call. Give the flowers. Raise a glass. Take the picture. Tell someone how much they mean to you.
And if someone you love is celebrating a milestone, don’t assume they know you’re thinking of them. Tell them.
Because sometimes the smallest acknowledgment can become one of the most meaningful moments in someone’s day.
Life moves quickly. Years seem to pass faster the older we get. And the people we love deserve to know that their presence in our lives is something we never take for granted.
THE GIFT OF BEING 60 AND GRATEFUL
And that brings me to something very close to my heart: being 60.
Sixty.
What a beautiful milestone.
When we’re younger, we sometimes think of 60 as a distant destination. We imagine that by then we’ll have everything figured out, that life will somehow slow down, and that we’ll finally understand all the things we were too busy to appreciate before.
And then we get here.
And we realize that life is still unfolding. We’re still learning. We’re still growing. We’re still dreaming. We still have reasons to laugh until our stomachs hurt, people to hug, places to see, and memories to make.
But hopefully, we also have something we didn’t always have when we were younger: perspective.
We begin to understand that not every problem deserves our energy. Not every disagreement needs to be won. Not every invitation needs to be accepted. And not every day needs to be extraordinary to be wonderful.
Sometimes a perfect day is simply waking up, feeling the sunshine through the window, hearing a loved one’s voice, enjoying a cup of coffee, or sharing a laugh with someone who knows us well.
At 60, gratitude takes on a different meaning.
We understand that time is precious because we know we cannot assume how much of it we have left. None of us knows how many birthdays we’ll celebrate, how many anniversaries we’ll share, or how many ordinary Tuesdays we’ll get to enjoy.
And while that thought might feel a little sobering, I think there’s something beautiful about it, too.
It reminds us to be present.
To stop postponing happiness until we have more money, more time, a better body, a bigger house, or fewer responsibilities.
It reminds us to stop waiting for the perfect moment to tell someone we love them.
The perfect moment may simply be the moment we have right now.
Being grateful at 60 doesn’t mean pretending life has always been easy. It means recognizing that even through the difficult chapters, there have been gifts. There have been people who helped us. There have been lessons that made us stronger. There have been moments that reminded us why life is worth celebrating.
And there is still so much possibility ahead.
Maybe our greatest adventure isn’t behind us. Maybe it’s the way we choose to live the days that are still waiting for us.
So if you’re 60 today, or approaching 60, or well beyond it, I hope you celebrate yourself.
Celebrate the wisdom you’ve earned. Celebrate the resilience that brought you here. Celebrate the love you’ve given and received. Celebrate the person you are becoming.
And if you’re younger, remember that every birthday is a privilege, not a guarantee. Every year is another opportunity to live a little more intentionally, love a little more openly, and appreciate a little more deeply.
We don’t have to be afraid of time passing. We simply have to remember that our time is precious.
And what a wonderful reason that is to live with gratitude.
YOUR DAILY HAPPY MOMENT
So here’s your assignment today.
Think of one birthday, anniversary, or milestone worth celebrating. It doesn’t have to be yours. Maybe it’s someone you love, someone who has made your life better, or even a memory that deserves a moment of appreciation.
Reach out to that person. Make the call. Send the message. Share the memory. Tell them why they matter.
And then take a moment for yourself.
Put your hand over your heart and say, “I’m here. I’m alive. I have people to love, things to appreciate, and moments still waiting to be lived. And today, that is enough.”
Because happiness isn’t measured by how many years we’ve lived. It’s measured, in part, by how much love we’ve allowed ourselves to experience along the way.
My fellow Libras, keep bringing your kindness, your appreciation for beauty, and your desire for harmony into the world. Just remember to give some of that kindness to yourself, too.
And to everyone celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, or simply another day on this earth, congratulations. You’re here. You’re part of someone’s story. And your life is worth celebrating.
And that’s our thoughts on being 60!!
Remember, my friends, life is precious, time is a gift, and happiness often lives in the simplest moments. Don’t wait for a special occasion to celebrate, don’t wait for tomorrow to express your love, and don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you appreciate the life you have today.
Be grateful for where you’ve been, be hopeful about where you’re going, and be present for the beautiful moments happening right now.
Until next time, keep smiling, keep shining, keep spreading kindness, and keep finding your happy.
Because there’s always a little happy to be found.
This is Techandtravelmom.com reminding you that every day is a gift, every moment is an opportunity, and you are never too old to celebrate life.
