As we welcome in 2021, many women are taking this time to reevaluate the past year in so many ways.  The collective events of 2020 have us balancing work, home life, and self-care (mentally & physically) like never before.  COVID-19 has particularly impacted working women according to the Women in the Workplace 2020 study conducted by McKinsey & Co and LeanIn.org.  Women are considering a range of options to include searching for a new role due to furloughs, a job that helps provide better balance, flexible and/or remote opportunities, downsizing, or changing their current career path.

No matter your reason, the following is a brief list of a few of the female-founded job sites that based on my experience, support women in their job search.  Each has its own unique brand and offerings, but all offer at no cost the opportunity to search their list of current job openings.  In addition, they provide industry insights, career advice, company reviews, and networking opportunities.

Fairy God Boss  Ability to search by company, location, remote, and industry.  Company reviews provided by the network of women members share details on their support of women and what it’s like to work there.  Networking opportunities offered.

The Muse  A robust list of jobs and companies and unique search topics such as Fast Growing, Innovative and Fortune 1000 allow you to explore. Offers resume review and career coaching at a fee.

Power to Fly  An impressive event schedule with global reach gives you the chance to “chat” with speakers on a variety of topics.  A deep category list of current jobs is also showcased.

Career Contessa:  A resource-rich site offering webinars, e-learning, company reviews, templates, coaching, and yes, job listings!

The Mom Project Focused on providing women “flexible” job opportunities that allow you to focus on the #1 role as a mother.  Serena Williams is an advisor.

Inkwell  Highlighting roles that offer full-time flex or part-time opportunities.  Also provides a referral fee should you recommend someone for their current list of roles.

Another critical factor when you are looking for a job is to consider if the company has the right policies for women and diversity. To evaluate potential employers, check out Gender Fair for reviews.

We wish you well in your job search in 2021!  Please let us know what other career topics you would like to see covered for future blogs here at Hello Career Guru.
