An easy skin care routine for busy working women is what we every one of us needs! As we mention all too frequently in our posts, we barely have time to take care of ourselves while balancing our family and our job and trying to maintain a social life, too.  Recently, at a girls’ night out with dear friends, we began to brainstorm about some of our favorite skin care routines that we find help keep those dreaded wrinkles at bay.  You all know how we love to analyze and research our tech, travel and sports, so why not our skin care routine, too?

Here are some fun tips (including great joke material) on a daily easy skin care routine for busy working women:

  • Kick off your day by sipping hot water and lemon.  It’s a great natural detoxifier.
  • Spray natural saline in both nostrils.  Saline spray is a natural way to reduce allergens, thereby helping to clear the sinuses and reduce puffiness around the eyes.
  • Apply L’Oreal Collagen Filler under your eyes to combat wrinkles.
  • Then apply Olay Total Effects 7 for day (and use the partner cream at night).
  • If you’re looking pale from too much time in the office, put on Jergens Natural Glow Face.  Be sure to wash your hands, though! We have had many (not so) funny fake tan experiences over the years.
  • We found that if you massage in NIVEA Skin Firming Cellulite Gel Cream Q10 two to three times a day, you definitely will see a difference short-term.
  • Buy a wooden body brush, and use it on your whole body (not too hard) to get your skin glowing. Use your favorite body lotion.  We love using the Origins Body Soufflé as a treat.
  • At night, use StriVectin-SD Eye Cream above your eyes and on the smile lines. You can buy the body product that works in the same way at most Costco stores.
  • Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm in peppermint is a favorite to keep the lips soft and subtle.
  • One of the best tips came from our friend the physical therapist: Buy elastic sports tape at CVS (it comes in fun colors like the Olympic athletes wear) to apply on scars to remove the lumps. The tape really works wonders for C-section scars. We are still testing to see the if it lasts long-term. The tape is also a fun way to help your children’s boo-boos.
  • To reduce hair frizziness (especially helpful in the summer months), try a Kerastase hair masque.  We use it three times a week. For shampooing, we rotate among Tresemme Keratin Smooth, Pantene Aqua Light and Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo (great name and great for the kids to prevent those scary camp critters).
  • In addition to the stores mentioned above, you can buy all of these products on Amazon Prime (we love it because it saves so much time), but we know that Walmart is also a great source.
  • Finally, we find that hitting a Pilates class two to three times a week, partnered with yoga on the weekends, is not only great for the complexion but for the neck, back, Achilles and knee as well.

We would love to make this routine more organic and environmentally friendly.  Please send us your suggestions!

And, with any luck, someone will soon invent an app for for an easy skin care routine for busy working women!
