This chart and its stats say it all. Just think about how technology has changed in our lifetimes. I remember growing up without an answering machine and actually practicing telephone manners. In college, we wrote our papers on typewriters. I have fun imagining what technological revolutions our children will see.
The chart does a great job sketching the rapid technological innovation that has taken place. In a discussion with one of the nurses at a NYC Hospital, I mentioned how cumbersome using the card catalog for research had been. She stated that she had read about the past existence of card catalogs.
