Disney World: Apps to help you plan your trip

Driving to Disney World is a dream come true for our Family. Many magical Apps will be helping us along the way. We are so happy to have Apps to guide us since the last time our family visited, we attended a pre-planned conference. Now that the children are bigger and have diverse interests, we had to carefully plan our Disney World adventure. Our seven-year old daughter wants to visit with the Disney princesses while our tween wants to test drive in Epcot. Then, we have our teen who is constantly hungry and wants to eat his way through Disney World. Keeping the trip affordable and everyone happy becomes quite a balancing act. The following Apps helped us bridge the family gridlock.

Helpful Apps for Planning Your Disney World Trip:

  • The Disney App: helped with all our planning needs and maximizing the Magic. The App features maps, wait times, FASTPASS® return times, and the ability to view menus and book dining reservations, manage and share itineraries with family and friends, find details about nearby Disney characters, attractions, entertainment, park hours and schedules, and more. The official Disney World App is free for both iOS and Android

  • DisneyWorldLines: allows you save time and money during your trip and gives you the real skinny on the parks. Free for both iOS and Android
  • Mouse Memo : organizes all your dining reservations, transportation and lodging in one place without all the bulky paper. $.99  for both iOS and Android
  • Disney Storytime: gets the kids excited for the Disney World trip while practicing their reading skills. This app makes wonderful entertainment for the road trip or the flight. $.99 for iOS (during a sale) but $1.99 on Android
  • Waze: navigates with feedback from local motorists and is key for managing the Orlando and Disney World traffic. We have been researching this App’s routes since we will be driving from Tampa for an early park start.

  • Disney Mom Forums: you can ask a question of the Disney Moms Panel and they will get back to you very quickly with their insights
  • Facebook and Twitter: ask your friends on Facebook and Twitter for their best hints on Disney World. A friend within #DisneySMMoms helped us locate a reservation at Cinderella’s table
  • The Verizon Insider blog: has lots of handy trips for planning family vacations
