A few weeks ago, we discovered our ten-year old son watching the above youtube video about the WWE‘s next big event of the year: SummerSlam on August 19th live from the The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.. The fun video has had over 680,000 views already and features WWE Superstars and Divas getting excited for the Biggest Event of The Summer!
Every chance our son gets he watches the youtube video again and keeps checking for updates on event details. His excitement is so contagious that we are getting excited too. Since he usually isn’t very talkative, we jump on the chance to watch the video with him and ask him what he thinks. He can name every WWE Superstar and at least ten facts about each. We love the special time with him and occasionally he will even cuddle although we think he may be really trying out his wrestling moves on us.
Ever since we attended Wrestlemania in April, our tween has asked to go to a WWE match to see his favorite superstar John Cena. We decided that since he is turning ten this month that attending SummerSlam would be the perfect gift to celebrate his first decade. When we told him last night, he jumped up and down for twenty minutes. You would have thought it was christmas morning with the wonderful awe and amazement in his eyes. We must say that reliving the joys of childhood through your children is one of the greatest gifts of parenthood. This gift of bonding with our children sure keeps us young.
Meanwhile, our family couldn’t stop laughing as our ten-year old proceeded to imitate his favorite Superstars. He can’t wait to see them live at Axxess and SummerSlam. In fact, he has been on the computer as much as possible plotting out our schedule for the two-day event. On the 18th and the morning of the 19th, we will attend Axxess and then the big event on Sunday at 4:30pm. The rest of the family can’t wait to watch SummerSlam on pay per view. Only taking our tween did create a bit of jealousy with our other children so we have promised future special trips for them especially our 7-year-old daughter who wants to meet Kelly Kelly.
