clubhousedreamOur family truly feels that the perfect vacation is Two Times Is A Dream At Whiteface Lodge.  This February, we again enjoyed the luxurious accommodations and many special amenities during our son’s state ski competition at Whiteface Mountain.

Multi-Level-Kitchen

Two Times Is A Dream At Whiteface Lodge in a Three-bedroom Suite in the Clubhouse

This time we stayed in a beautiful three-bedroom suite in the Clubhouse, complete with our own sunroom, which boasted spectacular mountain views.  The suite also featured a gorgeous full kitchen and two fireplaces.  The massive master bath, with its enormous marble tub, was the size of most luxury hotel rooms.  After we arrived, the children had a great time lounging around in the hotel’s soft bathrobes and fluffy slippers.

Our room was right next to some of the best world-class resort entertainment we had ever experienced. Each morning we would go for a relaxing swim in the indoor and outdoor pool.  Nothing can be more invigorating than swimming outside when it’s 9 degrees!  Although you’re enveloped by the warm steam rising from the pool, icicles still form in your hair.

Kanu Breakfast-5

Two Times Is A Dream At Whiteface Lodge with Their Delicious and Hearty Breakfast

Included in our package was the hugest and most yummy breakfast. Our children feasted on pancakes, French toast and any type of eggs, bacon, muffins or croissants you can imagine.  The Whiteface Lodge coffee is so good, it’s almost a meal in itself.

After breakfast, the family enjoyed a great day skiing.  Following a day on the slopes, we were back just in time to catch a yoga class and some early evening skating.  The lodge has its own skating rink, complete with a bonfire and the best hot cocoa we’ve ever had, made with the freshest of cream.  It is amazing how when you are little, skating doesn’t seem so hard, but when you are an adult it can be quite a struggle!  Thank goodness they have skating walkers these days, or our children would have really been in hysterics with our antics.  As we lounged in the skating hut, we really enjoyed the stories of the attendant, a local park ranger, who taught us that if you ever get lost in the woods, follow the trail of moss because it always leads to civilization.

Kanu-Dining-Room

For dinner we opted for the resort restaurant Kanu, which offers both fine dining and casual family menus and where you can play board games or cards.  After dinner, our family bowled a few rounds in the resort’s private game room.  To polish off the evening, we toasted s’mores in the magnificent Clubhouse stone lounge, with its over-sized comfy couches warmed by the roaring fire.

Nothing is better than S’mores at Whiteface Lodge

The next morning, after again dining like royalty, the kids enjoyed a concierge-arranged private screening of Minions in their own movie theater, complete with gourmet popcorn, while Mom snuck away to the full service gym right next door.

The nearby spa also offers a wide variety of indulgent services, as well as complimentary sauna and steam to ease those achy ski muscles.

Our entire stay was incredibly relaxing, as the gracious and attentive staff catered to our every need, down to the warm cookies left every night with the turn-down service.  Our family has decided that we definitely have to visit the resort in the summer in order to experience swimming in crystal cool Lake Placid.
Two Times Is A Dream At Whiteface Lodge and we highly recommend that you book a trip as soon as you can.   It’s not too late for spring break!
