Stratton Mountain Resort: Something for Everyone

February 13, 2015

Welcome to guest blogger, Janice Craig, my friend from business school. Thanks to Janice for the wonderful post on your trip to Stratton! My family traveled to Stratton Mountain over Christmas break. While holiday travel can be off-putting, with higher prices and hordes of people, we were not deterred. With few opportunities to ski this season, my husband, two teenaged sons and I looked forward to getting away. Send to Kindle

Anticipating Chinese New Year in Chinatown #NYC

February 5, 2015

Anticipating Chinese New Year in Chinatown #NYC: Chinese New Year is approaching, and since our children are studying Mandarin, we thought a visit to Chinatown #NYC would be a great way to introduce them to some Chinese traditions and customs. Chinese New Year is also called the Spring Festival.  It is the most important festival in Chinese culture and the longest.  It starts on the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month of the Chinese calendar, which runs differently than our Gregorian calendar, and it lasts for about 23 days.  It ends on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month […]

Fun Family Skiing at Mont Tremblant

December 9, 2014

Winter is here, and we’ve just kicked off our ski season with Fun Family Skiing at Mont Tremblant!  Tremblant is less than two hours by car from Montreal and nine hours from New York City, but the drive must rank as one of the most beautiful in North America.  We’ve noted that parks in Quebec are national parks, as opposed to provincial parks, which adds to the feeling that Quebec is a country within a country. The View From the Top of Mont Tremblant is Spectacular An Intrawest resort like one of our other favorite mountain resorts, Stratton, Mont […]
