A week ago, Sony’s professional group invited us to witness the unveiling of this affordable camera developed with the latest Hollywood technology. Technology has really revolutionized video production in our lifetimes. We remember from early in our careers, the national sales meetings of consumer packaged goods companies who paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to glamorize the introduction of new Aspirin products with huge splashy video presentations. Then only a few months ago, we attended the end of year presentation and rally by Rush Soccer where five different video screens in a Houston mega-church transported an audience of thousands through the season’s favorite sports moments. This is a great piece SK! In general, I leave the really fancy stuff to a professional production team. But today, many PR flacks like me have to be able to move on the fly and capture moments immediately and turn them around quickly for our clients. Social media requires that we work at sonic speed. I hate feeling that sometimes the quality I am putting out there could be better but I was just stuck at the time with a smart phone or other smaller recording device.
This is perfect for special events, podcasts, red carpet events and promotions. If it is easy (read: Laura can do it) to use and edit Spielberg style, for influencer media like us, this is most def worth the investment. Now look at you! You are making me all techy!!!

Love Sony video cameras! It’s amazing how much Sony packed into this camera for that price point. This is my dream camera. I’d love to just run around the world and produce travel videos. Maybe I’ll start a kickstarter campaign. 😉
